The Geneva Center of Concern Thrift Store.
We offer quality used clothing, furniture and other household items at very affordable prices. The Center also distributes clothing, bedding and housewares from the store at no cost to families in times of dire need. Emergency assistance may also include vouchers that are used for baby care supplies, for medical prescriptions and towards gasoline (often needed to attend job interviews or for medical appointments) as well as funding to assist in cases of utility shut-off notices. The Store was closed for nearly half of 2020 due to the pandemic. However, critical needs of families for clothing and other personal items were addressed on an individual basis.
A component of the Thrift Store is the Shirley Shop (named in memory of Shirley Thibault, an original founder of Center and former president of the Board) which contains many personal items, collectables and other items.
Income generated from the Thrift Store is used to help support Center operations.
