The Geneva Center of Concern Thrift Store offers quality used clothing, furniture and other household items at very affordable prices. The Center also distributes clothing, bedding and housewares from the store at no cost to families in times of dire need. Emergency assistance may also include vouchers that are used for baby care supplies, for medical prescriptions and towards gasoline (often needed to attend job interviews or for medical appointments) as well as funding to assist in cases of utility shut-off notices.  In 2019 the Center provided emergency assistance in various forms to 378 individuals which included 179 vouchers totaling $3,228 of merchandise in the Thrift Store
A component of the Thrift Store is the Shirley Shop (named in memory of Shirley Thibault, an original founder of Center and former president of the Board) which contains many personal items, collectables and other items.

Unfortunately because of the ongoing Pandemic, our Thrift Store remains closed for the time being.  We are making significant modifications to the Store and hope to reopen the store in August.  For the time being we cannot accept any item donations for the Thrift Store and when reopening occurs the procedure for making item donations will be revised.  Please read the letter updating this process on the Home Page of this website.

Income generated from the Thrift Store is used to help support Center operations.

Large selection of lightly-used clothing for clients to choose from

Volunteers sorting through donations for the Thrift Shop

A good selection of books and videos for all ages

The Shirley Shop provides useful and unique items for all.

As seen in the images below, the Thrift Store is being given a facelift to improve the shopping experience for our clients.  New safety precautions will also be implemented to help protect both shoppers and staff.  Please read the letter describing the tentative reopening time and new procedural guidelines on our home page.
